I’m sorry that I haven’t been as diligent in my posting as during the first week of this lockdown. Things are really getting weird out there and I, like many of you, have been focused on finding enough supplies to make it through until the quarantine ends.
My friends on Facebook around the country tell me that the gray cloaked weirdos are not just a local phenomenon. They’ve been spotted from Los Angeles to Boston and even in other countries. I wonder if these are the same people who were dressing up like clowns a few years ago and messing with people’s heads?
There was an explosion in my neighborhood two nights ago. It was about an hour after dark when this deafening crack of thunder followed by a boom like louder than the biggest firework you’ve ever heard. It shook the house, knocking some books off my shelves and rattling all the glassware. I ran outside, along with most of the neighborhood to see the bright white light glowing over the rooftops. I don’t know if it was electrical arcs or some really weird fire but it looked almost like tentacles of white light writhing above the roofs. It only lasted a few minutes and then darkness returned. It was weird that there wasn’t a response from fire or police; nothing. Are all the emergency services incapacitated by the virus?
The next morning people wandered around the neighborhood until we found the source of the explosion. This house on Death Valley Drive (appropriate name for the times, right?) had a hole gaping through its leftmost wall and roof. A third of the house was wide open to the elements. The strange thing was that there wasn’t any debris in the street. I would have assumed that an explosion that violent would have spread debris all around the street. I got as close as I could without going past the fence and could see that the floor was missing where the hole was as well as parts of the interior walls. There was no sign of the residents and no one, myself included, was going to brave entering the house just in case the gas or whatever caused the explosion was still in there.
The people on the street didn’t have much information to provide. Their houses were rocked by the explosion and all they remember was a blinding white light outside which lasted a few minutes before winking out. The house was in its current state when the light died. The lady across the street said she dialed 911 but it just rang off the hook. Does anyone else know if their emergency services are working?
One old guy said he saw one of the robed creeps but nobody else did. I think it’s time to start going armed if these guys are dangerous.
Normally I’ve been asking for folks to donate to keep the blog alive and help with my living expenses but I am not going to do that anymore. I’m more concerned with documenting what’s happening and sharing information.
Please share your experiences in the comments. I want to hear from you. This is Joey; I’ll talk to you later. Remember we’re all in this together.
