The putrid slime, reeking of decay and death, oozed down the side of the cliff toward where he lay bound by the savages.
The savages, barely human creatures, knelt and chanted some gutteral word over and over. He understood that they intended to sacrifice him. Was the slime some acid or other destructive chemical?
A blob of the foul stuff was inches from his face when large bubble in its mass suddenly split open revealing a pus colored eye that stared into his own; that was when he began to scream.
