Hi, I’m back. Did you miss me? I went on a road trip with my lovely wife. We travelled down to Santee, SC to be right on the centerline of the solar eclipse. We didn’t just want to view it with glasses – we wanted to have totality where the sun goes black, the sky goes dark and the world becomes something nigh mystical.
Let me tell you, it was worth the drive. We were in a field beside a large lake with an unobstructed view of the sky. As the sun went dark the crowd hooted and howled – it was like the soundtrack of some primitive tribal event or maybe the zombie apocalypse? It was awesome!!
My photos don’t do it justice, cell phones just don’t get the resolution needed but you’ll get the point – besides, there are hundreds of professional photos out there if you really want to see what it looked like.
After the eclipse we drove down to Florida and all the way to the keys where we camped out in Long Key State Park, right on the beach. We drove up and down the keys, visited Key West and toured Hemmingway’s house. It was a great vacation. I’m not going to share all my photos here, just a couple to give a taste.
I’ll be back with more picturefiction this weekend.
